TLI Mathematics Program

The Learning Institute develops mathematics assessments for grades 1-8, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.  Each assessment typically includes up to 20 multiple-choice items and an open-response question.  TLI provides up to eight assessments per subject/grade per academic year.

Currently, assessments in grades 1 and 2 follow the Common Core State Standards, while all other grade levels are assessed on the math curriculum frameworks of your state.  In 2012, students in grades 3-8 will move forward with the Common Core State Standards.

All items are approved for content and standard correlation by TLI curriculum specialists.  We do not use released items from state assessments or any other previously published source, since doing so would severely impact the reliability and validity of the assessment system.  In addition, TLI replaces the math item bank each year, allowing us to release some of the used items to quiz builder, an application allowing teachers access to items for remediation and skill building.
