TLI Core Reading Guides

 

TLI’s Core Reading Guides provide elementary and secondary English Language Arts (ELA) teachers with a consistent, in-depth and multifaceted approach to teaching works of literature.  After consulting ELA experts, TLI developed a list of challenging, engaging, and content-rich texts spanning grades 3-12.  While these titles only represent a portion of any ELA curriculum, they will present a clear progression of core concepts and knowledge.  The Core Reading Guides provide critical information (an essential question, vocabulary, teaching points, assessment options, essay prompts, etc.) and support for teachers using the guides.  Many of the Core Reading Guides appear on the CCSS Exemplar Text list or are found in the Common Core units.  For a partial sample of a reading guide, click here.
